Ecological and Landscape Assessment for Existing Golf Facilities

"Management cannot be properly undertaken until we understand what we have"

All golf courses have a role to play in preserving and enhancing our rich natural history and varied landscape. STRI can offer a suite of survey and audit services bespoke to existing golf facilities.

  • An Ecological and Landscape Assessment of the golf course will provide the baseline information on which all future management and decision making is based.
  • Assessments are carried out using standard survey methodology and will provide the golf club with a record of all priority species, habitats and landscape zones across the course.
  • Prospective habitats for protected wildlife species will be highlighted as part of the assessment. Preventing future legal issues and potentially large fines.
  • Ecological connectivity mapping can be provided for the purposes of management planning and architectural reviews.
  • Any changes to the course which require Planning Permission are likely to require an Ecological Survey prior to consent being granted. STRI can undertake all statutory wildlife surveys.
  • Specialist, detailed surveys can be undertaken for protected habitats such as hedgerows, woodlands, ponds and heathlands.
  • Management based upon the results of an Ecological and Landscape Assessment will achieve the maximum aesthetic and wildlife value of the course in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
